    Thanks Robin. Since this engine is apart, can you provide the casting dates for each half for the pulley end of the case, and the pairing number from the top of the case, please. Can you also confirm the casting part #'s on the case sides end with 1.02 & 2.01

    I spoke with a fellow the other night that has engine 900393. It might be available to reunite with the original car if it can be found; VIN unknown at the moment.

    HI Engine it built at the moment, i have another 65 engine that's dismanlted, i'll get that info for you when i see my engine builder soon. The 66 engine hs no time ware/fan/alt at the moment so I can get most of the numbers for you.

    The 900393 engine, do you know what VIN? I have a frind with VIN 300147 - http://r-to-rsr.com/1964-porsche-901...-r-to-rsr-ltd/. ny estimate of VIN?

    Here's some new information for you, Dave.


    901/01 ... 903356 ... 3256 ... 790/790 (pairing number)

    Here's some interesting info on the casting dates...

    The 1/2/3 case half is dated 3/65 (three dots)
    The 4/5/6 case half is dated 6/65 (six dots)

    Those casting dates are very strange. Partly because of the difference in dates, but also because they are far earlier than might be expected. About 800 engines later than I might have expected. Could you document this engine with photos of all the numbers and so on please.
