    901 xxxx

. The engine number is 902586. Casting numbers on each side of the case are 90110110201 and 90110110101. Both sides of the case are stamped 950. The case is date stamped 6/65. The engine type is 901/01. This case has been inspected by a machine shop and appears to have no visual defects and is in tolerance for a 40 year old Porsche engine case. Stock#041309.

eBay #380124537470 it just happens to be for sale, not mine, for reference only for this thread.........Cliff

    Apologies Dave. It's

    3280327

It's a really coincidence that I came across two sequential engines.
From 3280327 I will get you the case matching number later. Currently it's covered by the fan shroud.

    Sure it is!

See if you can get the serial # for the other engine too, please.
I appreciate all pairing #'s when it is possible to see them.
It is also nice to get the casting dates from the block.
For the aluminum case engines, this set of 5 numbers can be really useful. For the magnesium engines, the sixth number to collect would be the left & right case part # end digits (like the 7R case, however in some cases one might find a 5R & 7R type of matching).

Thanks Richard. Thanks Andy. Can we get casting dates from as many engines as possible please.
I added a couple as well. That give us a total of 192 build #s so far.
