Thread: Seeking Opinions on Value

I wouldn't throw any big numbers around until you have seen the car John. I'm surprised how many experienced car guys can't spot a re-paint. The difference in value between nice original paint, and a careful re-paint from back in the day can be 50% or more.

By the way, you're jinxing yourself talking about the car before you own it

That's true and I've seen a few original paint cars that even experts wouldn't agree it was such..since it is so rare...even though there was NO evidence to the contrary...and then we have "100% orginal paint," how about touch up how about, a deck lid..or...or a deck lid and no one can tell

Original paint w/ docs....... $80 to $90. Would have been a $100 G car last year you need to find the perfect buyer this year.

Pretty car, but for sure at least the engine lid has been painted.

How do you tell that, Tom? Especially from these little pictures. I haven't seen the car in person and, as you say, someone would want to inspect it very closely if they are paying a premium for originality.

    John,

Per several well-respected people on the board, the engine lid should be painted black underneath the grill from 65 to 67. From what I have read, and more important seen on old photos, this is correct. I don't see black paint under the grill so I would agree that the lid has been repainted.

    Great car!

Looks totally unmolested and original. The paint one would have to see in person. What is the chassis number as pics are on the small side? Thanks.
