Thread: S/T 2.5 short stroke twin plugg

S/T 2.5 short stroke twin plugg

What would be the most correct/best case to use for this engine build. With the 66 crank, what cyl/pist would you use and would the case have to be modified to take the cylinders? Would you shuffle pin the case?

    Thanks

John, this question had a Norwegian bent to it, but you may have seen it already. From Pelican
    http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=436892

and this thread that Henry @ Supertec referenced
    http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=434823

I believe Curt has a 2.5 so he may be able to advise. Or someone else who has already done it.

FWIW,....There are still a few Mahle 89mm P/C sets (Nikasil) made for the IMSA 2.5 litre GTU motors w/66mm cranks still available. These have 97mm spigots so the cases need to be bored to use them.

Let me know if I can help.

2.5s are for pussies. Go with the ORIGINAL ST motor, an 85x66, 2.3L big cammed beast of a motor that made 250 HP at 7800RPM.

Does anyone still stock the Mahle 86.7mm pistons & cylinders for the longstroke 2.5 motors?

Somewhere around 10.3 or 10.5 compression?

    If available are they Nikasil?

Or are JE / Nickies the only way to go?

    Thanks
