    Hi Bill
Yes, of course the HLS is no official factory Prototyp (as are not a few others listed).
    I edited my post since.

BTW According to a french site, this was another VW-Porsche 914 factory Prototyp, mid-sixties.

In 1980 we visited the porsche Factory and then toured the countryside around Stuttgart. I saw a white 916 parked in a private driveway.

Apparently, it is the first to receive a rear-window tensioner, from what I can perceive from other "First 10" Targa owners.

"2 units were built by Autohaus Nordstadt (Hannover) in 1972" . The builder was Günther Artz.

These photos seem to be contemporary (I think those are 16" fuchs so at least not 1972/3).
I've seen video of that one before and it does still exist. This may or may not be related to it but well worth seeing...

Here's another VW 411 designed by Günther Artz with a Porsche 911 dash and 3.0 engine in it

Although not a beauty, I was able to check in real the 4-seater prototyp in the factory archive. (see my post 69)
There is no documentary available in any literature except some recent magazine reports, as the car was discovered only recently.
Looks like another (the third) attempt to do a 911 four seater.
This looks like a late 1960ish built design study, built out of white plaster on a wooden structure.
No interior and w blacked-out plastic windows.
The car was in the museums/factory garage, usually accessible only by VIP's.

Wow: you got the other side of the glass to me during my visit! I'm impressed! The museum officials didn't listen to my pleading to see the interesting cars in the garage the day I went!

Beleive it or not, i had access because our kids. The factory organised a x-mas event in their garage and only families had access. There was also a 936, a 918, a 550 and their early 60ies F1 visible as well as this 930 Turbo with Special equipment. Cant recall if this 930 was a prototyp/showcar too but it had special Carrera decals and matching "scottisch plaid" interior. Beautiful car.
