Fort Worth Tx.
Nicest looking 4-door 911 I know.
Featured in Road&Track issue.
Not factory built but factory approved by US Porsche Importer.
San-Antonio, Texas Porsche Dealer William J.Dick comissioned Troutman-Barnes Corp. to build
a 1967S Sporto full leather int. into a 4-door 911 - as a x-mas gift to Mrs. Dick.
Factory people later checked the car but vowed not be interested. However,
Pininfarina soon later (1969) was factory comissioned to do a 4-seater too.
In 1973 car received a 2.7Rs engine, new transm., aircon, larger rear flares and 7" Fuchs.

Intersting 8 pics Raj. They simply installed 911 axles with a fairly large 28mm spacer. Easier than having custom axles made or having the good Dr. blast through 914 CV joints every week.

some older ones.
Porsche Typ 534. 1953
This was the planned Beetle replacement, designed by Porsche.
Looks like a larger 356. Design by Pinin Farina.
Porsche 726. 1953
Another planned Beetle replacement.
Looks like VW Typ 3 of 1961. Photo in front of Werk 1.
Porsche Typ 542. 1953
Porsche design consultancy for Studebaker.
Car in front of Stuttgart Castle as well as at Porsche Factory space.
Porsche 904/8 Bergspyder I&II. 1965
Developed under Piech.
Extreme lightweight glassfibre body and aerodynamic developments rear&front.
Knowledge from this car influenced Piech's later race program.
The flip-up headlamp design-idea got re-used on Porsche 928's.

VW later built its Golf/Fox car and abandoned Porsche's idea of flat four tucked under rear storage area.
Note Fuchs wheel in front trunk area. (Christophorus 12/73)
