    Bob,

Semi-useless information, but I remember an article in either Pano or Excellence on a guy making this himself to fit his own car.

Thanks Eric. I know I've seen them offered in an old R Gruppe Newsletter but I can't find the issue. A member was making/selling them for around $50. Someone needs to make these.

Well, maybe it was an old RGruppe Newsletter, but I can't remember, cause like over other "porn" I only look at the pictures..

I think it was Bruce Hermann. He had someone make him a batch. I sent him an e-mail about them and he told me he would get back to me with the next batch. But I never heard back.

Either he forgot or he is not making them anymore.

Bob - Let me know if you find a source.

    Thanks,

Same here, I've always wanted one. Let me know if they become available again, especially for $50!

I haven't officially talked to anyone yet but I will most likely have one made by my body shop (full of old school Russian metal masters). I expect to get charged for 2 hours labor. At that time I will inquire about having duplicates made and keep you guys posted.

    Hi Bob,

I made one out of some extra sheet metal for the '67...actually it was some scrap metal from an old front pumper section so it has the lower lip. Then welded a bolt on the back and will use some flat stock to hold it on similar to the torsion bar covers. I tried some door edge guard on the perimeter but that did not flex enough for those tight turns.

Let me know if you come up with a production version...my dad's '69 needs one.

    Chris,
That's how I remember the plate in the R Gruppe Newsletter and I would approach...sorry...pay somebody to make one for me.
What about the same thin edging material used for bumper end caps? It's thin enough and should work with some "V" relief cuts.
