Vintage "Porsche Racing Division" Decal ID

I came across the following decal and am interested in finding out more about it. It looks, feels, and smells to be older (60's-70's) vintage. Installation instructions on back point to its age. Anyone have any information about when and what it was made for?

    Front:

Does the VH and winged helmet logo help? Off-white is opaque so lettering can be seen as attached to inside glass, blue is clear to backing.

Back: #2 Dip in water for 20sec.

    Thanks!

That winged helmet is the logo of the old Petersen Publishing Company, which published Hot Rod among other magazines. I'm guessing the decal was some kind of promotional item from Petersen?

Thanks! Interesting lead. The lack of trademark or copywright (TM, or C) after the Porsche script may hint to its age too. Like today, would it have had to be something that Porsche would have to endorse to publish and distribute (say in older Petersen-published MotorTrend mags)?

Perhaps the Porsche literature/memorabilia folks can chime in.
