Amazing, huh? Love the 'hippie' band.

Rolex Cosmograph, aka 'Daytona', probably a ref 6239.

Back then --- just a watch.

How about talking him into letting The S Reg Bulletin print some ? Maybe doing a feature on him - you're volunteered to write it

    - Now that they are out of the box and all....
I'm game on that, but Coop himself would get my vote for doing the writing.

    photos

With all the low volume internet based publishing options available, this guys should consider putting together a book.

The photos are phenomenal - keep them coming.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Saving the best for last ...

    Original historic photos of the great Porsche 917;
I have to get confirmation from Coop but I have good reason to believe that some of these photos are of Rodriguez and Siffert from the race at Spa in May of 1970pretty darn cool photos.

I'm still working on figuring out where the others are from.
    Hope you enjoy these!
    Regards,
    Mark

Some might actually be from Le Mans of 1970 but I'm not sure yet.

What a great shot the bottom photo is which appears to be communication from the Pits to Rodriguez and Siffert informing them of their advantage over Jacky Ickx who was teamed with John Surtees in a Ferrari 512S

Brings back many memories, Mark. I was at Spa-Francorchamps in 1968. Beautiful pictures. If my memory is correct, that's Siffert in the #24 car. I think that's his helmet. It looks to me like all of these are at Spa. Nice picture of Ickx on the billboard. Thanks for sharing.

Just great photos Mark, please keep posting them when you can. I agree that these would make a fantastic book of photos from that era.

That is Siffert in the #24 on this page, anyone know the woman in the drivers' suit talking to Siffert on page 2? Amazing how frail he looks in that photo, a strong breeze would blow him over.

Phenomenal photos. I think that almost all those 917 shots are Spa '70: #24 is Siffert/Redman (Redman's getting into the winning car), #25 is Rodriguez/ Kinnunen (DNF, Kinnunen in car); David Yorke is holding the pit board; the #29 is the Hermann/Attwood Posrsche Salzburg car; the exception being the #20 which should be Siffert/Bell from Spa '71 (Bell waiting next to the car, eventual winner Oliver in the box). Also believe that the lovely blonde in the Alfa Romeo jacket is Lady Sarah Curzon, then-wife of the late Piers Courage and daughter of 1931 Le Mans winner Earl Howe. BTW, in the earlier GP photos, I believe that Stewart is in Tyrrell's March 701 that he ran while developing his own car to replace the '69 title-winning Matra MS80. Thank you for sharing these memorable images!
