Thanks for the help IDing these guys.
From 59 to 62 as a kid when I was 6,7, 8 my Dad was in the Air Force stationed at Croughton AFB. We lived in Silverstone. Needless to say that is when I became a gearhead. On race weekends I was a garage/pit rat and Stirling Moss was my hero because he would let me sit in his cars. The memories when I see pictures from those eras is so cool. That was when racing was truly special. Today everything is so corporate unless you "know" somebody there is no way you would or could even get close to anybody let alone anything. Back then I guess it was more pure from this kids eyes...........thanks for sharing the photos Mark.
Merry Christmas.

These photos are tremendous. I was stationed in Germany during Coop's time there and perhaps rubbed elbows with him at Spa in '66 or Monaco '67. I took lots of B&W images, but alas, had no close access nor a long telephoto on my (remember these?) Pentax Spotmatic. Thanks, Mark & Coop for sharing these.

Jim and Dave: Thanks for the kind words and also for sharing your own stories. I'm really pleased that these photos touch people the same way they touch me. I know Coop is very appreciative of all your comments and is really happy everyone has enjoyed them.
I'm hoping he'll be inspired to find more so I can continue this thread.
Well! A few of Coop's photographs are in a beautiful layout in the April 2011 Excellence, along with a nice article by Mark Morrissey about how they came to be taken. A most enjoyable continuation of one of my all-time favorite threads. Thanks for bringing these treasures to light, Mark, and thanks to Pete Stout for a nice presentation to a larger audience.
Thank YOU David ... so pleased you enjoyed the story and photos. This is really exciting for me. I'm sure Coop is thrilled too in his own uniquely calm, unexciteable manner. I need to thank you Early S forum folks too because your response to Coop's photos here is what inspired me to take it further.
It's pretty neat to have been able to show a lot more folks Coopers amazing pictures. Coop has SO many great photographs, it was unbelievably difficult to edit them down to where we ended up. I want to also thank Pete Stout who was so helpful to me throughout the entire process. What an impressive guy he is. Thanks Pete!
I think I figured out who the lovely blond lady is in the photo with Siffert. Unfortunately, I didn't find out in time to get it added to the caption in the Excellence article. I found this photo of Liane Engemann among Coop's photos — turns out, she was a pretty good driver in her own right:

Coop's own caption: As fast as she is fair: Liane Engemann is a touring car racing driver well know on european circuits as a woman driver to be respected.
