Thread: Paint type for trim?

    Paint type for trim?

I have black trim on the 69 and it has several nicks which show the chrome underneath.

Anyone know what type of paint to cover these up?

    Paint is a 10 footer...just trying to make it a 9 footer

If your referring to the window channel , and the door trim. That was originally chrome not painted. I've have a few paints that I use to refresh the black trim and they both work excellent. I prefer option 1 because it is cheaper and easier to find and seems to hold up better too on those parts.

1: Autobody Master - Acrylic Satin black Trim paint is an excellent match and look. You can get it at most paint stores and Bumper to Bumper. I have used it quite a few times with excellent results. If you can't find any locally shoot me a pm and I can pick you up a few cans.

Wurth Satin Black works good. If you can't find it. Some of the local paint stores sell it , however it's usually more expensive.

I like the Autobody master better than the Wurth, alot of the guys like the wurth because it was an OEM supplier to porsche.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.......checked with Bumper to Bumper and they don't carry paint in Canada. The Wurth is only available in spray cans and at only a few places. I'll try the local auto body supply place and see what they carry, now that I know what I need.

thats surprising that Bumper to bumper doesn't carry it there. I would keep asking around the Auto Body Master comes in either a spray can or can I've used both, keep looking and like I said if you cant find any let me know I think you can still ship spray cans without issue.

SEM Trim Black is easier to find than Wurth, but to clarify, 69 was notchrome, it was brightanodized aluminum.
