    2,2 sticker

Hi, can someone please post a picture of an original (untouched, 100% sure!) 2,2 sticker?
The ones bellow are from some cars I've seen recently: the one with the RED numbers is the sticker now sold by Porsche and the WHITE numbers picture is allegedly an original one. Please note the different typeface design and obviously, the different colors... I'm also almost sure they have different sizes as well.
Not to mention that I've heard of an bright ORANGE numbers version... Please advise!

    Thanks in advance!

    2.2 decal

Vasco, I have both original and current 2.2 decals, both on the factory backing paper unmounted. The current one is from Stoddard Porsche here in the U.S. from two years ago.

The dimensions of the original are 130mm horizontal measured from crankshaft ends and the vertical is 105mm from intake top to bottom of motor outline.

The new version is 139mm horizontal and 113mm vertical.

I will try to add a photo when my camera batteries are charged but since they are still on the backing paper it will be hard to differenciate, but they are clearly different.

    Vasco,

Here is the unused decal that was located in Patrick's maroon folder. The numbers are clearly orange when you hold it up to the light.

    Thanks guys!
Maybe it helps if you place them against a window (in daylight, of course!) for the picture.

On "The 911 & 912 Porsche - A restorer's guide to Authenticity", page 29 (top) there's a picture of what seems to be the bigger version (pictured in this post with the red lettering), but referred to as being a "...large orange..." decal.

David, if possible, please confirm the color: red or orange?
Brian, could you please confirm David's measurements?

Vasco, the original is orange. My measurements might be a little off, I was usiing a ruler.

    Thanks again David.
Everyone, would it be possible to see a picture of an original mounted 2,2 sticker please?

    Unsatisfactory???

I've had yellow ones and red ones.... But never managed to find what I think should be the correct color: tangerine orange. I'm pretty much sure that was the color used in 1970/1971.

It would be great is someone would produce these stickers the correct color?

It's strange to think that the factory got it wrong by producing "red" ones....

    Thanks Milou!

Maybe Porsche didn't get it wrong... maybe their intention was just like to make the difference between "period originals" and "today's originals".
Sort of like Carl's doing with his near perfect repro key-pouches, just ad a little something different...
