Thumbs up OE Hoses and fittings

My mechanic Richard Dick is now offering his services and factory parts to make, re-make, or fab any early Porsche oil or fuel hose you need. He's using factory hose, fittings, and tools.

In fact it's Richard who sells some of our other friends the stuff to do the jobs.

Send him an email or call at:

    Cheers,

    Coolers

    Chuck:

I would start a thread for this but it's sort of in the same vein as where you are heading here. Sorry if it looks like a hi-jack.

This is a photo of an oil cooler on a car that I believe belonged to the registry at one time. It is a 1972 911-S and this is how the mechanic plumbed an additional cooler. This car never ran hot. It is similar to the setup my '73 had which was made in TX back in the 70's although I like this location better.

My '73-S had a setup that was unique and very well thought out. In fact Porsche installed coolers on the slant-nose turbos here. Right rear wheel housing in front of the wheel/behind the door jamb. It worked very well too.

I'm only suggesting these options as they make for a very sanitary look as you are not drilling and running lines down the body.

As for the efficiency, while I never tracked or raced my car, it never pulled more than 180-190 on a hot day. I recall that the silver '72 S had a somewhat "hot" engine in it and it ran cool also.

So, if your man can make lines here is another idea for cooler mounting locations. All of this IS custom.

    My best,

    Tom
