Currently in the early stages of restoring my 67S which has been converted to rally spec. Could you knowledgeable guys let me know what the period wheel for a 67S was, pictures and wheel size would be appreciated
thanks
Mark
here is a wheel I have never seen before. It is on a customer's car that showed up this week. The car is a mash up of all kinds of parts and all the #s have been ground off and a chassis number from Washington Sate states it is a 73. I think it is a 70 or 71S, though. It still has all the "through the chassis oil lines" and aluminum S oil cooler installed, though, not hooked up.
Ciao

Thanks Rick, good idea!
Tho the crown looks somewhat different, and with the "made in italy" on the rear, the consensus seems to be that it is a Personal. Stuck it in the car just for the photo, just not the biggest fan of silver spokes.
To share my bit, I went on an initial quest to locate a Ronnie Peterson signature wheel for my car, primarily for sentimental reasons. This turned into trying to get each of the Momo "signature" series wheels. It's now complete, with an exception of the founder's Moretti wheel. I didn't seek it since its so different, wood rim & polished spokes, and it didn't appeal to me, maybe since I don't own a true "early" car. Tho the R.P. wheel gets the most love and use, I do actually rotate thru, giving each wheel about 2 weeks at a time in the car. (This helps when explaining to the boss why you need more than one steering wheel for your car.) To try to pay further, well earned, tribute I store/display each one as you see. A photo of the driver and a corresponding flag. (I know Mario is a naturalized US citizen but I went for originality). Since I had Ronnie's out to fit the Personal for a pic, I installed the Jackie Ickx today, supplied by member gsjohnson. I like how the leather is changing from black to brown!
The new quest is to get each of the, even harder to locate than the wheels it seems, corresponding horn buttons. I'm currently missing 2, Mario's and the Gille Villenueve.
