    Squat...and reflectors

    Thanks for the pics Raj...
The Scarab Blue car was an influence in my decision to do the car and color choice.

Squat...I think I have 3-4 degrees negative camber in the rear, which may or may not change when it gets corner balanced. It does look good, and fortunately I can stuff 15x7s in the rear without having to flare the rear quarters. I went back and forth on the "flaring"....and ultimately decided not to, as a result of the vast amout of other repair work that was necessary to fix the chassis. I did however roll the fender lips.

The reflectors are a good accessory idea...I hadn't thought about. I'll need to source a pair of those.

I fabricated a period correct roll bar that mounts to the longitudinal vs the floor, and welded in the feet to bolt it to, but for the time being will not install it.

I built up a 7R 2.7 RS spec (mahle 8.5:1) carbed engine with E cams. The oil system uses a 72 console and the oil tank is in the correct place (behind the passenger lockpost) with lines feeding a big setrab cooler in the right front fender. As this is a driver vs a racecar, I did not see the need for the pair of coolers. As the car stands, the oil system is already quite complicated. I might add that to get the line from the bottom of the oil tank to the feed (the line that goes through the engine mounted oil cooler) past the rear wheel, I had to filet open the right rear longitudinal and lay the oil line inside and weld it shut. It exits the longitudinal behind the wheel and then connects with the feed line. The PP thread shows this in detail.

The engine has about 30 minutes run time...I have been seating the rings by driving from where I live at 8100 ft up and down my road to get even top and back pressure. With the E cam, the engine is pretty responsive low and pulls strongly to the current 4500 rpm limit. I'm happy with the 2.7 choice and the 2-in 2-out exhaust is just raspy enough. I still need to do a final adjustment of the carbs for my altitude.

    Corner Balanced and Aligned...

I got the car sorted this week...little change on the ride height. Now I have a positive rake.

I need to get a set of repro seats...some ST and /or R seats. These nice comfortable stock seats will be for sale shortly...maybe with headrests.

    Lars,
Great to see the finished car! I really enjoy see these "alternative" cars being built and even more so seeing them built by the owner. I wish I had a fraction of your skill set. Great job and thanks for documenting the entire process!
