Go Out and Buy a Ford

This is an example of the paradigm shift in more than the auto industry and it will be interesting to see what long term effects it has on the collecter car market. These changes are being done by executive fiat and with no congressional oversite. The consumer, both rich and poor, are being trampled on at the expense of ideology with no idea of the impending unintended consequences. http://foxforum.blogs.foxnews.com/20...gm_bankruptcy/

Bill Ford was on a local radio show last week. He was not a happy camper. His point: Ford played by the rules. They 'mortgaged the house' so to speak a few years ago and that, in part, has given them the cash they need to ride this out. Now their 2 domestic competitors have magically erased their debt, effectively calling a 'do over' Ford still needs to pay off their debt. He was equally concerned over which of the 3 automakers would get 'special treatment' by Washington in the coming years. Does the government have an interest in seeing to it that their 2 new fledgling auto companies succeed via favorable legislation? Does the government have any incentive to see their primary competitor - Ford Motor Company - succeed?

He should be smiling and be very happy. His BOD's has NO Gov't reps and their designers have "free-pencils" to draw up whatever the fu*k they want. Ford "should" now understand the market, and cut out models that have a short future. They have "for-sure" dodged their final bullet and lived their 8th life. I'm certain there will be some great things coming out of this " Last American Icon" .

I hope you're right. And overall, the interview was very upbeat. They've got some good stuff in the pipeline.

.... now if we could just get him to tell his Dad to sell the Lions
