    Passing of Gary Kempton

I just learned that Gary Kempton of GKrestorations/ made by hand, passed away this last Saturday.

Altough the name of Gary Kempton didn't pop up on this board often, was Gary very well known in the 356 world (that is where I met him. He came to all the big events and was 'involved' w/ early pre A's, 4 cams and American Roadsters). Gary knew rare stuff and knew a lot of small details. He also restored one of the safari 911's

My condolences are to his family.

My condolences to his family, also. I did not know him, but knew his work and enjoyed what he created.

    Passing of Gary Kempton

Well that is a significant shock!!! Worked with him last year at Charlotte on the final judging team. Damn what next!!!! I think he was fairly young too, maybe I shouldn't sign up for any 1 year subscriptions!! Really sorry to hear this.

    Our sincere condolences

Teresa and I had drinks with Gary, Margaret and another couple at Charlotte last year. It seemed that his latest "thing" was (space age) 50's and 60's fiberglass boats. He was so excited about some of his finds that it reminded me of a kid at Christmas. His talent will surely be missed. I don't know if many of you realize how quickly he turned the French Blue ST into it's original guise as a Rally Car. Read the fine print on the cover of the magazine!

Always sad to lose a Porsche-loving brother, especially one so talented. I did not know the man, but that ST and other GK 911s are some of my favourite cars ever - he certainly had 'the touch'. Happy trails Gary.
