If anyone can add anything with regard to the near side "B" post not having a recess for the engine lid release handle (see picture earlier in thread) please shout/post pictures etc....Was this something that could be requested by the customer? What other cars was this done on? Any other pictures would be great!

I will try and sort out a few more pictures this weekend.

    Tim,
I've definately got a good shot of a 'blank' B post somewhere.
    I'll dig it out.

    Chassis Number

The car is chassis number 11820912, which from the Red Book puts it towards the end of the 1968 T chassis.

    Wheels

I mentioned the wheels at the start of the thread. The front pair are 5.5" by 15" and stamped accordingly, part number 901.361.012.04 and both dated 5/68. The rears are 6" by 15" and stamped accordingly, both with date stamp 6/68 however they both have the same 5.5" part number 901.361.012.04.
Sometime last year I did see a posting talking about this, if anyone can remember it please shout.
This is one of the strange things that I hope to get a better understanding of when I get more info on the specific build/specification because according to the "Sports Purposes" document the only non matching wheel combination homologated was if you had the 7R on the rear with 6" up front....this may have been specified given the type of African roads the car was intended for so a more "Rally" than "circuit" purpose?
Again any thoughts/ideas very welcome....plus many thanks for the messages/info/help I have already received.
The following pictures are all from one of the rear wheels:

    Seats

The seats I believe to be the originals (welcome any input from the Seat Police) but the African climate and/or wildlife has not been too kind!

The first seat is a Recaro Sports Seat, vinyl bolsters and houndstooth centre, interesting to note that the houndstooth material is attached to basketweave vinyl at the point at where it should be secured...was this usual?

The second seat I am assuming is a Scheel, or could this be aftermarket?

Both seats were on Recaro tilting bases using the lightweight Recaro runners (the type with 4 adjustment holes on the down bend at each end).

    Blank-B

    Now Tim,

I found that pic of the blank B Post I was referring to earlier..
Crystal Blue is a '68 factory car I believe - in original condition. Looks to be a very 'crisp' treatment - almost a pressing..?
2nd pic is my own project

    Scheel

Tim: The second seat is indeed a Scheel - someone on the board will know the model number. I have a Scheel catalog and will look it up for reference if no one else chimes in.
