What help ? The photos look very good.

If anything, I would have given the third & fourth shot a little more exposure, perhaps 1/2 or 2/3 f-stop, to lighten up the shadow areas. (Look under Exposure compensation in you Inst. booklet).

For help with exposure, check the histogram before you shoot, and also review each photo's histogram on the LCD after you shoot to see if your image is too dark or too light. If it's not what you want.....shoot again. Your instruction book for the camera usually has a paragraph on the histogram. You access the Histogram by pushing the info button. It's one of the most useful features in digital cameras, SLRs or Point-and-Shoot. I recommend becoming familiar using it,and interpreting it because truth be known, what you see on the LCD after you snap the shutter isn't always exactly what you'll see on your computer screen when you download your card.

Secondly, a smaller aperture ( a bigger number, like f11 or f16) will provide more depth of field, and the entire shot would have been sharp (including the linkage parts nearest to the lens) in photo #4. Some point & shoots may not give you that capability, so, again, check your manual. That almost always requires flash if indoors because you will require a longer shutter speed to compensate for the loss of light due to smaller aperture.

By the way, what camera and lens combination are you using ?
