    Nice 2015 Bump!

My 'New' other car is a hard one to find. Great for all my bikes though and still something different here in NYC. Gas (1.7) 2 owner, SoCal blue plate transplant. Brought it over last Oct. from Long Beach, CA. 1983 was the last year these were made here in PA. Very few '83's were made period. Plenty of '81's and Diesels.

All stock, not dropped, and I have the factory steel wheels w/ caps and rings.

    Very neat car, Steve!

The few P'-ups that I see anymore are all nasty/smokey/zombified wrecks --- fit only for donating their diesel blocks for some more-worthy hi-po application. Haven't seen one as nice as yours in forever

And how in the world did this thing come through so nice, anyway? Any Story to Tell, here?

IMG_1162.jpgThe "other car(s)" is a 2014/15 Toyota Corolla with the 1.8 engine underhood.

Same engine as what Lotus puts in some of their cars after supercharging them to make over 200 hp. The plain grocery getter version makes around 135 hp and still achieves 35 to 37 mpg.

The other engine Lotus uses to power their faster cars is Toyota's 3.5 litre V6 and seen in the workaday world environment, comes in the Highlander.

Which is what I use for the "other truck", in 4 wheel drive SUV form.

They just NEVER break ...... great units all.

( the Corollas can be had in some dealerships for as little as 14,000. NEW, no miles- cash, no trade. Even LESS for a manual in white. )

A BIG +1 on the truck. Saw one as described above heading down the road yesterday with blown exhaust manifold gasket. Wonderful sound.... Poor old truck looked to have been "well used" albeit not well taken care of by the owner.

IMO, I have the perfect Other Car. Averages 122+ MPG, and I can fit an early 911 hood, 2 fenders and a bumper in the back (yes, I've done it). Chevy Volt.

I have those exact gloves. Bought 4 or 5 sets at some little shop on Milano Malpensa Airport... They're perfect!

I have bought them in a tiny shop in my home town in Italy some years ago ... indeed they provide such a nice feeling of the wheel ...

    Why I Love My e30 . . .

    . . .

    Have ~10k mi on the re-build, now --- finishing breaking-in, basically . . .

Oil consumption is zero, fuel economy = >30 MpG

    Tires + cat-back = still to do

    Odo wuz broke, so . . .
