Need Some Assistance in New Hampshire

For the first time in eight years I have brought my 911 to New Hampshire with me for the summer. I am having an issue with the front strut, are there any shops or mechanics up here that I can trust?

Keith, where about are you located and what's wrong with the strut? If the shops that Tom mentioned are close to you then check them out. There's also Precision Imports in Manchester, Dick Horan runs the place and is highly regarded.

    Hi Keith,

You could also try Michael Grisman in Berwick, ME, which is right over the border with NH. He used to own Foreign Intrigue. He can both fix it and probably replace whatever you need with a good used unit. In fact, Michael loaned me a pair of SWB struts while I had mine rebuilt at Koni NA.

Rainer and Jerrgy have just finished a bunch of work on Ol' Ivory. Major task was to restore the underside of the car, sort out some paint issues and install a new headliner. The underside was A Rather Nasty Job but it looks great! It's coming home tomorrow.

    Michael Grisman in Berwick, ME,

I did not know if he was still around, I used to pick up parts from him when I was in Maine on vacation....The upstairs of his barn is amazing!

I'm up in Waterville Valley, NH. It is in the middle of the state by Plymouth and about and hour and twenty from Manchester. Thanks for the help.

It would appear that the hole in the bottom of the strut has wallowed out a bit allowing some back and forth movement of the strut on the ball joint. I replaced both ball joints a couple years ago. When I looked at the bottom of the strut it appears that it is that and not the ball joint moving around.

I found it when I had the car off the ground up hear to look at a minor oil look. By chance I checked the wheels for bearing play....

I'm a little annoyed with myself for not catching it before I left Florida as I could have disassembled it and had it repaired befor I left. It was one of those things I did not even think of checking. Oh well, live and learn.

Damon is the close to me...about 45 minutes. I'll give him a call first.
