Thread: Weber price advice

They are Italian made webers. The picture was a bit blurry but I see where it say made in Italy. I've decided to just have my car sit for five weeks while the webers are rebuild.

Let us know if you actually get them back in 5 weeks! He's known for price and quality, but not speed.

oh Might have to rethink this as I don't want my car down for the entire summer including Monterey Historics - not that my car is concourse or anything but would be nice to drive it there.

Anyway I did talk to Harry and he mentioned that perhaps he could ask one of his customers if they'll be willing to trade spots if they're not in a rush but I'm not counting on it. on well.

I would talk to Paul Abbott as well as I've seen some fabulous Weber restoration from him.

I'm not sure if they do 40 IDA's, but Air Cooled Engineering (ACE) has rebuilt a couple sets of 40IDF's for me. Turnaround was just a few days and the work is excellent. Flow tested and set up for your configuration.

Oh, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the Italian-made Webers I've bought have all said "Bologne" and "Brevettato" on them. Not sure if the Spanish or American ones say that.

The US produced Webers usually don't have any country or city manfacturing markings. They also don't look as dull as the carbs made in Italy.

Thanks for the recommendation - I'll call him tomorrow but I read somewhere that he'll be out for 6 weeks. I like the fact that he is relatively close by in Chico.

^ Nice except you don't get to touch them

I talked to Paul today for a good hour. Really nice guy and knowledgeable - took the time to explain/educate me on the webers. I'm going to be sending my units to him for a level 2 rebuild + machining.

    Thanks for the referral everyone!

FYI - I was going to have Bieker Engineering rebuild mine but due to timing decided to go with Paul - My research shows that both are very good.
