Are package tray seatbelt anchors anything "special'?

I have seatbelt anchors located in the package tray of my '67S and have seen them mentioned several times in other threads. Mine were filled with plastic threaded plugs. Anyone have any to trade or sell? Were these anchors unique? I was under the impression that all '67s had these anchors. If not, were these anchors part of a factory package that would lead me to look for other details?

Not to be found in my car

This is how it looks right now and when when I took the parcel tray cover off it 10 years ago..

You might be on to something. Why would some cars have them and others not???

I think there is a difference between the anchors for the luggage straps and the receivers for harnesses. See this thread:

    http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showt...wb#post4698411

You can see I posted the outboard seatbelt receivers in an SWB, the receivers for the shoulder harness are the same, but on sports purposes cars there's a specific fitment up on the parcel shelf. Not the case in the normal versions.

    Can you post a photo?

    Threaded Harness Mounting Point

    Sacto S:

The rear mounting point for the three point seat belt was revised in 1968. The mount was moved from the inside rear panel used in 65-67 to the parcel shelf.

If your car is not a '68 and has a threaded mounting point that looks like the image below, it woud definitely be unusual.

Special mounting points are not listed in the '67 comp preparation/modifications circular.

I have a very late 67S with a June 29, 1967 birthday and it has the standard MY67 three point mount on the side panel.

I have anchors in BOTH locations

I have attached two images from early on in my restoration that show the anchor in package tray and also in the lower location. The car came to me with the original package tray upholstrey panel in place. This panel had openings for the anchors and each anchor had a plastic threaded plug. The plugs pretty much crumbled to bits when I attempted to remove them.

I also have belt anchors for the jump seats as well. Why all these anchors? My COA makes no mention of these items.

My fall '67 build date '68 has the package tray mount and the rear side panel mounts also. I believe this was for installing three point seat belts in both front and back of the car.

A follow up to Ray's comment... My very early 69MY (#54) coupe has the anchors, but are covered up by a LW carpet kit.
