    Striker Plate Q?

I could use some advice before I replace my striker plates that have disintegrating nylon. If I understand correctly, Porsche can only supply striker plates with a black anodized finish. Stoddard has a replica with a gold anodized finish, but the ones on my 73T seem to have more of a silver finish. Are the gold ones correct, and the ones on the car have just faded a bit over 36 years, or should they have a silver finish? And if they should be silver, any suggestions for sources? Thanks for the help.

Your original ones were silver as you said, however the Stoddard ones are the only replicas available. If you really want to you could grind off the rivets, replate them and then re-rivet.

Get a set of new ones and see if you can get the chromate off with oven cleaner.
