A Little Bit of Monterey in the Redwoods

As my wife and I were driving up from San Diego to Humboldt State (Arcata, CA) to visit our daughter, we came upon a dozen vintage autos touring on their way from Seattle to Monterey. A few of them were from overseas, Europe and down-under.

We came upon these vehicles while traveling the "Avenue of the Giants", stopping at the Visitors Center.

This car and driver are visiting from the Netherlands. After Monterey, he and the car go to Italy for their next rally.

What the hell is that fuzzy thing?

And what is the bottle looking thing at the bottom of the radiator?

The fuzzy thing is one of those beaver hand-puppets they sell all over the coast. I guess the owners thought it looked cute on the gearshift.

I believe that the "bottle" is a cover over the dynamo on the Bentley 6 1/2 model, but I'm no expert on 1929 Bentleys... I thought that it was a supercharger cover, but that model wasn't blown...

I'm not familiar with pre-war classics, but they are awesome.

My hat is off to these people taking their classics on the road for multi-day extended excursions.
