I could learn a lot from these two engine cases though. Photos of the numbers on the cases would be a start. Do these cases have date codes as found here?
Apparently the original post has been pulled. I saved the text:

    Hello

    I have two very early numbers;

    901/01 39 900139 came from chassis 300046
    901/01 46 900146 came from chassis 300042

Do not know what to do with it ... sell or keep???
Part of the story is that these cases were in an attic in the NL which was emptied by a junkyard / recycle company and sold through a Dutch equivalent of CL. The original owner has been an active (Porsche) racer in the 60s.

    WTB 72S Targa Engine 6321730
This engine was sold from Huntsville Al in the spring of 2000 and shipped to So Cal. It was sold via an online ad in Pelican or Pano. The person buying it was installing it in a 901 car as the clutch/flywheel was removed before shipment (as well as the SSI H.E.). I have the original chassis so I would like to reunite them. Thanks for your help.
    Engine 6321730 911/53
    Regards, David

FYI I have 72s Engine 6321388 but I hope to find mine!

    Hello Everyone

I was advised to write my question/story here

Last winter I bought a car in New York (Gullwing Motor Cars) which was suppose to be a 1975 911S 2.7 Coupe - Turbo Look.

Unfortunately i wasn't careful enough trusting the company and now paying the price. After close inspection the car consists of parts from 4 different 911 models
I am stubborn and since I restore classic Porsche cars decided to give it a second life.
So bolt-by-bolt I am throwing out all the parts which are not suppose to be there according to original specification and trying to replace them with original ones.
The only thing I want to keep is the Turbo Look but it will be a first generation 1975 Turbo Look

Car got the friendly code name Frankenstein and is now equipped with 915/62 5-speed manual originally from 1983 911SC - 73D1407 (that's how I bought the car)
In my pursuit to bring it back to as original as possible I got the confirmation car was originally equipped with 915/40 - 5 speed manual serial number 7152324

There is not much history coming together with the car however it's last owner was a gentlemen from Wallingford. Connecticut. Bought the car in 2002 from VERTUCCI AUTOMOTIVE INC and maintained it there till late 2012.

I know my chances of finding the original gearbox are slim but still decided it's worth trying. Perhaps someone of You is in possesion of the transmission I'm looking for or any information about this cars' original parts.

    Best Regards from Poland
    Marcin

The motor is 6391381 and I just found out it is from VIN 119300980 which a newby here was looking to buy back in 2010.
