Just curious why you think the last number is a 5? From the picture it is clearly a 6...........

Looks like a re-strike as a 5 is visible. If you could get chassis numbers for "05" or "06" engines you could attempt to determine if the cars are still intact. I'm going out on a very strong limb and stating that whatever this was in is LONG GONE so it doesn't really matter. It would be a good core for the guy trying to "get close" to his original "S" engine number.

The original motor was sold from the car in the 80's from Ottawa Ontario.

I know this is a longshot but does anyone know where I can post or get information on a particular engine? I'm looking to try and relocate the original motor for my 1971 911T.

I often see people just post in the want ads but don't know if there is a service or place one can post something like this.

I am looking for details of any previous owners of my 911. Made on March 29, a Burgundy Red (6808) 1968 and sold to a Mr Waltner in Pocade Canyon Lane LA by VW Pacific, Culver City CA. VIN 11835284 engine 3280972. Was delivered with pepita comfort seats. It changed colour a few times and was also silver and Guards Red at different times. I have details of the last two owners, one in LA (Ed A) for 15 years and another in Australia.
