Looking for the 1st owner of 1972 911T Targa (Silver/black), VIN# 9112111485, Purchased sometime in mid-1972 from Porsche of Hyannis, Massachusetts
In August 2014, my wife and I became the proud new owners of a very original 1972 911T Targa. Sadly, we learned that the previous owner passed away in 2013. He purchased the car from the 2nd owner in 1976. Using the 1976 title, we located the 2nd owner, wrote him with information we had about the car and asked if he would share any information about the car. He called us the other day. To say that we were thrilled that he reached out to us would be putting it mildly.
The 2nd owner only kept the car for 2 years while living in NH. He had other Porsches at the time (356 & 914's). He told us that he kept very detailed records but that he had recently discarded them during a recent move. He said he purchased the car from a Porsche dealership in Hyannis, MA. Unfortunately, that dealership has long since closed its doors. I realize that finding the first owner of 9112111485 is a long shot but I thought I would give it a try by reaching out to the Porsche community. I think safeguarding the history of these cars and documenting their ownership is important.
If anyone knows a friend or family member who traded in his/her silver 1972 911T Targa at VW/Porsche of Hyannis MA, I would be extremely grateful to learn who that was. (The COA shows the car was factory equipped with the comfort equipment, sport seats, front/rear stabilizers, tinted windows, steel wheels, and a rear bumper with impact bar protection). Again, I am not sure if the car was originally purchased at the Porsche dealership in Hyannis MA or if the original owner simply traded it in on a new car at that dealership.
Thank you in advance for your help or suggestions on tracking down the history of this car.
You probably already know this.

Hi Tom, thanks for your post. Following tips I once read on the Early911Registry, I found this NH ad using the car's VIN. This is the shop that acquired the car from the 3rd owner (who bought the car in 1976).
