    Checkered upholstery 901 style?

I'm working on restoring 304307, a numbers-matching '66 coupe, Light Ivory over black, and I'd like to put in the black and white checkered upholstery in the seating area of the seats, like used on the 901 prototype. Anyone know of a source for this upholstery material? As an aside, does anyone have links to good pictures of the upholstery?

    Terry

    Hi Terry & welcome

Click on the search button and type in houndstooth - that should bring you up some information.

    Good luck

Was houndstooth the only plaid used? Were others with colors ever used, like the picture below?

    Thanks,

    John,

Just to clarify for others, there were multiple color ways of the houndstooth:
    White/red/black, white/green/black, white/tan/black, etc,

As far as other plaids, there was a madras plaid offered in 1973 in 3 colors (in addition to the houndstooth in 1973). Pictures have been posted here before, probably the best known example is Jeff Smith's old silver car which had a red leather interior with red madras inserts in the sport seats. There's also a scan or picture of these 3 colors in the factory fabric book on this site as well. I know Chuck Miller has posted this picture in the past.

In 74 (I think) there were 3 new colors of plaid offered. Pictures of a color or two of that plaid are on here somewhere as well. Tony did an interior with the blue version of this plaid and it's on his site.

    regards,
    Eric
