See also www.autotechnikauktion.de, which seems to have an even better assortment and has been operating for years.

    Wink Porsche Auktion in Cologne

Went to Cologne on Saturday to attend the auction.

Had a great time and was amazed to see so few automobilia collectors actually attend the sale (just 3 of us) but a lot of toy collectors were present and active in the morning.

I was hoping that everyone had forgotten about the sale.....

In the afternoon, unfortunately, the German dealers appeared and bought massively at fairly high prices. High levels especially if one considers the 23% buyers' premium and the fact they'll need to resell at a profit....

Everything that was original and pre 1973 created a bidding war (of course estimates were very low). I did manage to buy a few things, but missed the 907 and 906 binders and the 45 minute 16 mm film which seemed really interesting.

Frank is right however, Ladenburg auktion is more professional and has much greater experience. But the market actually felt healthier in Cologne and prices were just as high if not higher, possibly due to the novelty factor? In any case, the market clearly remains strong and interest remains very healthy for top quality items.

The 1965 911 (rusty and some) got an internet bid of 48.000 euros (!) which surprised all of us even the auctioneer. I'm curious to see if it will ever materialize.

I've also learned that reproductions exist of most club badges, brochures, and posters, and one must be very skeptical of items that are too new or too shiny.
