It is a limited edition of 250 cars sold at 201.682 Euros that will be over 280.000 USD at the current exchange rate. 3.8l engine is beefed up to 408HP and you will get a nice dash badge. The car is fully loaded, leather and alcantara everywhere, even the cover of the sat/nav system is leather covered, but all in what they call 'Espresso brown' which might not be everyones taste.

But would I regret it not to have bought one in 20 years at this price?

I doubt it. There is very little truly special about this car. It's neat but is definitely more of a marketing exercise than anything else. And you can take this to the bank: Almost without exception, anything that is sold as a collector's edition/item will in time not be.

Overall, the car looks nice, even if that "aluminum look" fuel cap is just a little over the top. I bet you it weighs four pounds and the allen screws are fake.

I just wish instead of making it the uber-boutique 911, they had made it the less expensive, lighter, stripped-down version that enthusiasts have been asking for for years. Little money in that though.

There really is something wrong with the picture. An illusion you might say.

They used the same technique on the new car that they did with the 16 cylinder engine.

I agree. There is also that massive depreciation expense that the 996 and 997 are known for.

Why not just wait a few years and buy your Sport Classic for $100K?

They digitally enlarged the 73 RS to make the 2 cars appear similar in size (in fact, the 997 appears slightly smaller!). A real foto of the 2 side by side would be striking in how 'ginormous' the 997 is
