I've been weeping uncontrollably since the announcement. Even though there's 7 days 23 hours 54 minutes and 37 seconds to go, I've been carefully repositioning the furniture in front of the big screen and adjusting the window shades to make sure every is perfect. I might install a backup generator to the house this week .... just in case. Would it be selfish to send my family and dogs away for the day so there are no possible interruptions? 6 hours of World Rally Madness is almost too much for the human brain to process.

I know.. I will be in Asheville, NC for the 912 east coast rendezvous Fri-Sun. My goal is to leave ashe-vegas at the crack of dawn Sun, do my own rally up to the 'Bus so I can be home to watch it. If i miss it (the race), I will be p*ssed. I would love to see the other programming before hand, but for a weekend of driving fun in the mountains, I would say its a reasonable compromise.

I'm surprised with all the cable TV you guys get that WRC isn't shown. One of our free to air chanels in Aus has a 1 hour highlight package - official WRC footage as far as I can tell - about 1 week after the event. Fantastic stuff - HD in car stuff is nuts!

The recent rally Austrailia event had about 6 hours of coverage over 2 days including "live" chopper shots of the lead cars over the final few KM of a last stage - all great stuff.

I never realised we were so lucky

    Enjoy!!

    Cheers

We used to have it here, but it was getting in the way of the 19 hours of tobacco chewing, cousing loving, NASCAR on speed channel. Of course you have 5 hours left right? Naw, that needs to be drag racing or street customs shows. I am shocked they still show F1 and ALMS races, although its probably only a matter of time before thats replaced by more NASCAR programming.

Anybody else slightly underwhelmed by this year's WRC coverage? I've been watching the 2001-2002 seasons on Joost and it just doesn't seem to compare (OK, so there were 7 World Champions and 7 manufacturers competing back in 01/02 ) But I think its the same production company with a different (lackluster) announcer and it just doesn't seem to be as well put together. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for anything but ....

maybe next Sunday's event will be better

I have no problem with the theory that all men are created equal.
But after that moment you are on your own and nobody owes you a damn thing.
