    350mm Prototipo Question

I'm about to purchase this 350mm Prototipo (pending more pictures), but I'm startig to have doubts about the size. I'm affraid it might be too small, both that it will look small and that it will "act" small.

I currently have the original 400mm leather wheel, but I'm looking for a miore sportier feel. I love the silver spoke prototipo look, but I'm wondering if I should look for something in the 360-380 mm range.

Also, any idea of the vintage on the wheel (aprox production years)?

    What do people think?

    Thanks

I have this identical wheel on my 68 911 and it has a very nice feel. I like it much better than the stock wheel.

I've been in the same process and was lucky to install and drive around different design style, grip thickness, and diameter wheels. The conclusion is I like the feel and ease of the 370mm wheel. It did cover up some of the instruments but not as bad as the 350mm.

It's really up to preference of course and without a variety of wheels to try at one seating it's hard to know what feels right.

GL - I had a tough time deciding.

I'm debating the same thing for my car. I'm trying to find a vintage 360mm or 370mm prototipo with not much luck.

You should also check out 'Zuffenhaus' products....www.zuffenhaus.us They have several different reproduction wheels that look very nice. An ST model of the prototipo....360mm and an R model that's 370mm size.

They also sell vintage style hubs that look much better than the standard new momo hubs as well as a repro R horn button....very cool stuff!

    Good luck with your search.

    350 or larger?

Ive always felt for a largely street used car that the 350s were just too small...in feel AND in look....

    we ran a 350 for a while...and then an RS style 380.....

I like the 370 the best.....w/ a thinner grip than the current momo 350 as well..it just gives a proper period feel....and look.

    Zuffenhaus makes nice wheels.....

I also can source a Momo Proto style in 370mm..flat...blk or silver....italian made...not by Momo..... several on the board have bought them....feel free to pm or e me......there are threads on the forum w/ pics....

Just my two cents: 350mm wheels look and feel great. Sorry Joel.
