Keep practicing on that Bridgeport and maybe we can get you a job at the aircraft engine factory.
Keep the pics coming!

I suppose turnabout is fair play, insofar as I posted a photo of Damon first (without his hair combed!)
That is an old flight suit left over from when I owned the Citabria. It was the perfect thing to wear for "schutzing" as it covers your clothes literally from head to foot! Now that the cat is out of the bag everyone will want one.
Also, my productivity had never been higher. . . when I would try to take a break and head to the liquor store, the local Polizei kept bringing me back!
I had never run a Bridgeport mill before-- and this particular one was fitted with a DRO. Talk about easy. . . you just index the thing till the readout says you're home and pretty soon you are drilling holes sideways!
Tom, I would be really hesitant about leaving the earth in any machine whose engine I had personally built. . .
You just never know the kind of things you can learn with these cars and this community!
Since this thread is supposed to be about the pursuit of perfection . . . which my machining skills certainly are not. . . here's a photo of the CAR

Looks very schutzy!
Are you going to schutz halfway up the rockers?
Mike, the "schutz line" is just above the jack receiver tube, maybe 1/4" or so. That will go on after body color.
I spoke with Damon yesterday. . . he had such success with Glasurit on another recent project (a blue GT2, for those of you that have been up there) that it's looking like we're going to use Glasurit line 22 single stage. I received a LOT of support from other forum members with regard to the PPG formulae for Irish Green 6606, unfortunately, none is current for the line of Acrylic Urethane we want to use.

Great work!
Regarding Glasurit: their 22-line is excellent, e.g. basicly only good one for single stage color Ferraris (pre F355, e.g. rosso corsa). I'm going to use it for my car, hopefully I can get good slate grey match.

John that sounds about right for where the schutz line is on the rocker.
What did you do for that misc vent in the front right inner fenderwell?
Only one hole in the floor for the gas heater, correct?
Love the updates.
Mike, we schutzed right over the vent, the factory didn't mask it. There is only one hole for the Webasto exhaust system.

I would say that given the desired purpose of this car for concours, Glasurit is the right call.

Interesting...on my '65 they did mask the vent in the fenderwell. I guess one more difference between the two.
