In my mailbox, in my garage ;-)

Just sharing with like minded enthusiasts... Some days the stars align....

Tonight in my mailbox (who knew the post office worked the day after thanksgiving, seriously!!) :

    - Top of the mail pile: Esses... I crack it open and yumm

    - Just under in the pile, Sports & exotic car. On the cover:

So I just had to open the door to my garage to be sure nobody had stolen my cars or something....

Definitely not a "show off" post, I've seen picture of Milou's garage mine's crap ;-) My 2002 is nowhere near the one on the mag cover, my white car is not even a 911 (69 912, still fun) But still, I had a smile on my face... not too bad, not too bad.... Just throw in an Alfa GTV and I'm set...

Edit: oh, now I recognize you from Pelican- you are in Florida, right?

Are you still running the Advan A048s? I like mine

Recently I have been geeting some great driving through the local twisties. On smooth roads, the tires grip like a cat. They like high-ish temperatures and I run the rear tires a couple psi below the fronts: 30psi front/28psi rear- cold. I find the stiff sidewalls provide sharp turn-in and the rear pressures give a little more mid-turn rotation. It lets the chassis flow through transitional ess curves nicely.

Well, I had "issues" running those tires but honestly it was mostly due to the wheels... The superlites with the Yokos were hard to balance for average tire shops, and then their offset (and size 7+8s) kinda stuck them outside a little more they rubbed a lot on my backdated fenders during the first track day I used them on...

I've since solved my problem in many ways... I found a guy that balances the tires up to 100 mph with the wheel on the car ! I also mounted the Yokos on my fuchs instead of on the wider superlites (no rubbing issue with stock wheel & offset), and the superlites received the street tires instead, which I downsized in the front to a 50 profile instead of 55. All good now... And I have 2 usable sets of wheels. But I have not had a reason to use the yokos again - not much use for R-compound in Florida: no turns, no hills, just love bugs and rednecks - unless you 're on track... so for now fuchs+yokos are on standby... I'm enjoying the damn superlites after all the trouble they gave me...

Thanks to you both... it's platinum metallic, a standard early 80s color. The car is a backdated 83 SC, so it looks pretty good for an SC, but it'll never feel like a true early car (I've had one of those, I can tell - can't explain why because it's just as light now, but I can tell the difference). Then again it's bulletproof - 185000 miles and going - and galvanized, no rust anywhere.
