Sorry Dave.........Yeah, great news for the left coasters who already have everything anyway...Treffen, Lit Shows, New Years Drives, Historics, etc, etc , etc ,etc
AND, trust me, VERY greatful to be able to be comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt on Jan. 9th...
OK,Second hand from a generally unreliable source...seriously, from the Porsche Motorsports network. Let's see what happens!
The Registry is on it; following up again on all our contacts.
However, let's see if the resources of this board can up with a real conformation (or rejection) for this so far thin but pervasive rumor that's fly'n around the Porsche community...........
Cheers,
Chuck

Scheduled 21-24 October at Laguna Seca... got a call late this morning from a well-known participant that spoke with Brian earlier today. Good on the left-coast guys! Because of the location it will be a slightly smaller event, expect the 917 as the feature since it's 40th anniversary is just past. Being held on the West coast, my vote would be for either the 550 or 356 since so many saw success on California tracks.
Now I have to decide on whether to change our vacation plans... Rennsport or Carolina Trophy?

Since we get little on the East Coast, I can only hope it comes back to Lime Rock. The 2001 Rennsport was for me the best 4-5 days ever.

Is it safe to assume the Brian you refer to above is Brian Redman? If so, this is truly delightful news. Very much looking forward to meeting some of the Midwest & Right-Coast gents who up to now have been merely names and member numbers on this forum.
Hopefully all this isn't just a pre-mature April Fool prank.

" slavish adherence to originality wasn't for me, because the car wasn't as good as it could be."
Rob Dickinson's response when asked what motivated him to build Singers
Yes, John... I had spoken with Phil Bagley about two driving events we'd planned this year; when space is available on Klubsport's carrier (trusted & convenient!) we commit early. Phil knew my October plans weren't locked in yet so was giving me a heads up after he spoke with Mr. Redman. Great news since we thought there'd be no RR at all!
Looking forward to visiting the West coast contigent again and meeting more of the faithful, we had a great time last August.

Please read this carefully and I would only ask you to stop posting any information regarding this event.
I am director of the Competition Committee at Laguna Seca. I spoke with
Gill Campbell, CEO of the track, late on Friday. There is NO DATE! We have nothing to announce and any comments that indicate that we do only
do damage to our work on this event. So PLEASE! Stop posting anything
regarding this event, it is in a very delicate stage, we will make a formal announcement IF anything is firm. But until then, everything that is said
that attempts to confirm the event will hurt our situation. We cannot afford
to jeopardize this situation as we have worked for years with PCNA to make
this happen. It would be best if this entire post could be removed but I assume that is too much to ask. So, just please stop any posts, count on us to announce something IF we get to that stage. I will make sure you know if this
happens. Until then, if you want us to hold this event at MRLS, please do not
continue posting until we have something we can release to you.
Thanks for your understanding, we are very anxious to hold this event and do not want to do anything at this stage that would look like we are making
assumptions that we cannot back up. I hope you understand.
Thanks
Bruce Herrmann
