    my local car show

This show has been held each January for the last 6 years in my hometown. It used to be free, but they handed it over to a promoter who fenced off the park and began charging admission a couple years ago, purportedly as a benefit for the La Jolla Historical Society and other local charities. I refused to pay the admission but rode my bike down and toured the perimeter, looking over the low white fence and took some pics. There were supposed to be 7 or 8 Porsches there, but I only sighted 3 from outside the fence, and could only get close enough to take a pic of one 356 and the 910 on display from Symbolic Motors. Shelby was the featured marque, so there were lots of Cobra, Mustangs and GT40s (real and replica). They had a motorcycle exhibit for the first time, including the "World's Fastest Indian," but couldn't get close enough for any good shots. Not worth the $25 entry fee, IMNSHO, but it was worth a nice bike ride on another crappy day in paradise.

Continuation post to overcome the 5 attachments per message limit. By the way, I uploaded these files raw from the camera without resizing. They are on my hard drive as JPGs @ 500+ KB each, and the forum software now seems to resize them to 100 KB or so automatically, as Chuck mentioned in this post.

Resort town next to us hosts a 'hot rod' show every year on the beach. Few years ago they started roping off the main parking lot and charging for admission.

    I don't go any more.
