    No only a replacement body

    Information received from Porsche classic:

    Hello Mr.L***,

13456 was produced as "bodyinwhite" to replace the damaged body of another VIN!
    No prototype.

I think the car that was damaged was unrepairable without a complete new body.

Adjustable front struts is a dead giveaway this body was not one of the first series chassis produced.

Ok so Porsche actually has tons of info about our cars. Another example would be the notes the test drivers made about ea car on the 20 mile test drive before cars were shipped out or other things done to the cars on the lines. How can we get this info ?

Porsche keeps more info on some cars than others. Sometimes information is missing on your COA, this information may be in their records but it depends on who is accessing the info from where.

I have heard about index card catalogs that stored all the info on their cars - of which that information was transferred to an electronic database, not all the info was transferred on every car. Some sources of the information - PCNA out of Atlanta for domestic COAs, parent company in Germany, original written records in a storage vault somewhere. There were no computers back then so somewhere written information must exist. Getting someone to dig up blurps on your specific car outside of the $110 COA would be very difficult. Finding mundane details about the original first test drive???? good luck! You could try calling 1-800-PORSCHE and see where it gets you.
