    WTB: Factory Rear Nudge Bar

I've only seen one of these for sale in the past 10 years (I bought it and mounted it on my '67 rally car pictured below). Looking for another one for a friend. He realizes that they are rare and expensive.

    Thanks,

    Hi John,

I have some. Unfortunately one has just sold last week for a customers RS but I do have another. Do you just need the bump bar or also the over-riders, which are basically slight modified standard ones? If the over-riders have the rubber strip (like those on LWB models) those are also different than the standard ones as they are shorter, but they are available and again I have some. Please send me a PM if this helps

    Thanks

    Alan

    Snap!

My 67S also has the same. FWIW I always understood these to be called a rear Nerf Bar. Here is a pic at Inveraray Castle proving that the sun does sometimes shine in Scotland.

    Mike...

That picture is obviously a fake - there has never been a day that nice in Scotland. At least on the many occassions I have played golf there.

    Cheers,

The rubber trim for the nerf bar is actually the front overrider rubber trim installed on the back overrider.

The standard rear overriders can be modified easily to accept the cross bar.

Good one Michael, now does anyone know what part to use for the rubber that fits between the bar and the overrider? It "is" a Porsche part...

I think I remember it being a 356 part but, after looking at mine, almost any good thin rubber gasketing would do, cut to fit from the originals.

I imagine it's one of the gaskets from the "bow front" bumper???

Bingo! Yes, it's the overrider gasket from a US style 356 A bumper where the overrider meets the main body of the bumper.

How much more esoteric can you get?

    Hi,

Just for file and for those waiting for pics here are the ones I have. Two have been re-chromed. The first bar with the original nudge bar rear over-riders are now destined for a RHD 2.7RS we are restoring.

    Thanks

    Alan
