    Hi Phil,

Where is the ad with the updated price? I checked Pelican and did not see it there.

    Thanks

    Chris,

No ad, I expressed interest in car for original price and owner emailed me back with updated price. Must of been a heck of a detail job,.

Ah, OK. Thanks Phil. Very average RSA's are now selling for $75-100K. Good cars with lower miles are heading into the $125-$150K range, with some very nice cars selling in the higher $100K's. I spoke to a guy with a 22K mile example in Red (Seattle) who wants $185K and believes he will get it. He knows of 2 cars recently that sold in that region, but I don't have any first hand knowledge of either. 2 cars have been sold at Canepa recently that got strong money. I've been offered some interesting trades for mine, but at this point I'm hanging on to it. It sure is fun to watch...

It's unfortunate that this thread has become so focused on value. Escalating prices have in many ways ruined this hobby...

Really? Sure there are some folks focused on the almighty $, it's what drives our sport; some people feel a 73 S is worth $300k because a RS is selling for twice that. The for sale ads here and Pelican make me sick and some of the cars too. I like MSNBC until the weekend when they have nothing but footage of what it's like to be in jail; Lockup. WTF does that mean in my life and how does that fit in with Morning Joe?

So there are some complete tools in the P car world, great, nothing new there; as Oscar Wilde said: " He knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing". You have to learn to navigate above the noise but I agree with you and am disappointed that so may of the folks on this thread are caught up in what the cars are worth.

I've had three 964s in my shop in the last week for various repair and service work...89, 91, 92. I think the upside to the increased values is that people are now more inclined to spend the money necessary to keep the cars performing (and looking) their best. Back when the 964 could be had for $12K most owners balked at doing the needed repairs because the costs were such a large percentage of the car's total value.

Now that the cars are on the upswing they are actually receiving the much-needed, oft-deferred maintenance and upgrades that they so deperately need.

I would say there are potentially more good cars out there than bad ones at this point...
