Couldn't agree more! I had an absolute blast building and driving my C2. Loved it! How far are you planning to go with your 94 Bob?

I wanted to support #9 of the article Christian attached above. I've always pondered the limited VIN significance, and wondered why it didn't seem to apply to the RSA. For years it hovered just above the C2. It now appears RSA values are adjusting themselves more toward the RS than being driven by C2 values, which makes more sense, at least to me.

964's are amazing cars, in all their variants!!! I enjoy the fact that there are so many different flavors to choose from

I got into the '94 at a very attractive entry point and had plans as I was looking. The motor got a refresh with upgraded fasteners, valve train, and high quality head work. The interior is getting a lightweight redo; rear seat delete, door cards, carpet, airbag delete dash, Porsche Mod-7 wheel. A re-geared 6 speed w/lsd and Wevo mounts. Lightweight flywheel and chip, headers w/heat, duel out. And since I am changing the LR bumper section going to a euro RS center section was a natural. Suspension is PSS10's, EVO front uprights, motorsport control arms. Calipers are Brembo motorsport, wheels are 17" Zuffenhaus Fuchs with a custom Harvey finish. There are a few other items which are mostly cosmetic. AC stays, summer in TX.

Wow that sounds really great, on a more modest level I am driving a gem of a 92 C2 manual in Cobalt Blue; I hear the 993 6 speed really wakes the cars up and your visuals really make me wonder why we aren't seeing any photos, I am sure you will correct that very VERY soon. Harvey Zuffenhausens? My God.

Point is I feel the RSA is definitely a head start to Euro style tuning but having grown up in Germany and The UK I can say the US always got the "dumbed down" cars; be it a GTI or Audi or even a M3 everything here was tuned for one size fits all as if you could say the temperature in the USA today was 75 degrees.

Upgrading the C2 as parts need replacement has brought significant improvement (thanks to many on this forum for their insight and prior experimentation) but I remain faithful to the factory and the car has no chip or other motor mods and is wearing a full interior, the A/C spits out ice cubes and even the bride loves going out on a ride. My 17 year old daughter is looking forward to auto-crossing it as her 22 year old sister did when she was first licensed and we will drive to and from the venue with our overnight bags on the parcel shelf, in August and in comfort here in CA, to a track in the desert. I can't imagine spending $10k on the car but I have spent an enormous amount of effort on tightening the nut behind the wheel.

I know some folks like it when you can run over a nickel on the road and tell if it was heads or tails but I prefer a more Grand Touring experience; what a testament to these cars that $10k and a few hundred pounds make both camps ecstatic.

    Bob,

Now that is a proper build! Wow!!!! Love it. I would have made all the same choices. Any consideration to ditching the sunroof while you are at it? The front and rear bumper beams weigh a ton too, you should pull those out while you are in there. Also, you can still source the Euro RS bumper mounts from Porsche which save weight as they eliminate the hydraulic absorber mechanism. Your car will blow you away when you get it done. Can't wait to see pics and get your impressions of the differences to the standard setup C2. Congrats!!!!

Congrats Bob ! Sounds like a well thought out car. Since you already deleted the dash airbags, have you considered manual window cranks ?

Thanks Chris, I will check on the euro RS bumper mounts. Getting weight off the rear can only be good. Guys, I did consider the manual window cranks and sunroof delete but based on intended use I chose to keep them. This will be a daily driver/road trip/spirited drives use, so some creature comforts will stay. Top gear will be the stock 5th out of the 6 speed, so not a top speed runner either. But it will have even splits after a taller 1st.

    Someone here needs this: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...ml#post8181491

Don't talk to me about "not safe for racing" because, frankly, I don't care. It's WAY cool and you'll never see another one for sale again.
