Six years on and the premium is greater. One thing to consider is RS America has most likely been owned by enthusiasts who could afford to keep up the maintenance even on track used cars. Many 964’s fell into the hands of people who could not or just did not maintain them when the cost to buy fell to its low point. I know I got my ‘94 C2 manual for under $16K years ago.
So some of the premium can be attributed to better condition and care. Deferred maintenance on a 23+ year old car can easily be many thousands of $.
Now between equal condition and maintained cars special models do earn some premium. But when more special model cars are produced and sold than C2 manual cars? Another factor is when the delete items have been optioned back into the car. The RSA still has some unique features, manual steering, rear seat delete, maybe the best street sport seats Porsche has offered.
If you buy a RSA and treat it like an investment, while it may serve that purpose. But if you don’t use it as intended, you could have made better investments with the premium paid and had a great C2 to enjoy.

Well, as Bob says, a lot has changed in 6 years, and the 964 market has gone nuckin-futz!

I was actually looking for a Gib car, red and already dialed in with all the goodies. I looked and looked and looked some more, during my 6 month search I found none worthy.
When I found my RSA, I thought, why not?! Glad I did, its the tightest, most solid and comfortable (the seats are amazing) 964 Ive ever owned or driven. I love the PS & rear seat delete, and that big tail in the rear. There will always be naysayers, and maybe I was one back in the day? That was then, this is now.
It's getting harder to find good 964's be them under-priced deals or overpriced garage queens. Buy one that suits you ....and drive it !
