'09 Targa Newfoundland on tv recently

Anybody else watch this? BEEEEEEEUUUUtiful conda green '65 finished 2nd in class IIRC. Lots of footage of it too.

Also had some great footage of a wicked Quattro rally car hanging it all out. Best edition i've seen of this event yet.

    One day.............

Yup (didn't know what sort of engine it had but you are referring to the multi-colored car that has won before i assume). But was behind the '65 911 until the LAST DAY! 911 apparently had some penalties on the last day that made the difference. The '02's navigator is the guy's wife which i thought was pretty neat.

Generally looks like the competition in that event is getting pretty serious.

Yep, "Woodstock" (IIRC) is a hard combo to beat. S52= modern 6 cylinder M3 motor. I read the story in Roundel after their victory last year.

The ranking is complicated by different time goals for different classes, modern vs. vintage.

I think the team in the green 911 were from Germany.

My brother with his son navigating won the touring class in their BMW. They were the only team, Touring or Targa with a perfect score, zeroed every stage! That takes precision.

Yes, swb team was from Germany.

Was wrong possibly about the husband/wife team as they had different last names.

    Good stuff though.

I know there was one BMW husband/wife team.

FWIW, my mother kept her maiden name when she married my father (still married 30+years)
