    Fuel Tanks Sender Gasket

I had to pull out my fuel tank sender and upon putting it back in the tank, I replaced the gasket. The old gasket was rubber and the new one is cork.
Question: do I need any kind of sealant on on the cork gasket or just reasonable tightening of the screws?

    Thanks!

Kent, I have always installed them dry without a problem. I figured if wine corks are not sealed why put goop on the cork sender gasket. I'm also sure if you did apply a LIGHT coat of sealant it wouldn't hurt a thing.

plus one. Nothing needed, and cleaning the sealant off next time might be a real pita.

Kent - I replaced mine as well with the cork version. No issues at all but like what others have suggested a light sealant wouldn't hurt.

Sounds good. No sealant it is. Thanks for the advice.
