We go there all the time with the kids. Great place to bike and walk or picnic.
The western town set is used all the time for photo shoots. The series "DR. QUINN MEDICINE WOMAN" shot all their episodes there. They even have a short section of rails for a period locomotive.
But I've walked part of the old track and can only say... "What the heck were they thinking?" Treacherous, narrow, poorly designed curves with run-off areas designed to put a car on it's roof. Yikes!

John, can you post the location by long & lat so it's visible on Google or MS maps? Ghost tracks are fascinating places, would be fun to see as it is now from a bird's eye view. Would be a great addition to this resource:

That worked fine, John... many thanks. Most of the track is visible and easy to see when comparing the old map to the satellite image. The North end is pretty wide but that section of turns 5-11 looks treacherous! Too bad a building now sits smack at the apex of turn 8. Can anyone confirm if the crossover bridge between 3 & 4 is still intact?
If anyone has further history it would be cool to compile it for the Ghost tracks site. A topo of the area coupled to the width and camber of the road really shows what a dangerous place this was. Not an unusual thing for road courses at the birth of sportscar racing in this country... which is why so few lasted more than a couple of seasons.
Thanks also to Chuck for providing a link to the 2009 TRE event. Looked fun!
