    Best 915 tranny : 72 or 83 w/LSD ?

    Hi,

I can get an original 915 mag tranny (1972) no LSD or a Aluminium stock 915 with stock LSD (1983 - which is I think 40% lock ?)

Based on same good price for both... Which one will you suggest for a 200 hp (2.4 PMO/twin plug) in a stock body LWB project ?

    Thanks !

At 200 HP either will be fine. Depends on the condition of the box, gears, R&P, etc. 7:31 is better gearing for your motor, 8:31 aluminum box is better for 275+ hp. LSD is a big plus either way.
