    S caliper thread

Help me find the thread on one of the forums where someone was selling a complete conversion for aluminum S type brake calipers. I think it was a UK forum/seller. The kit he put together had ATE calipers with a spacer block he made up, if I remember correctly, to widen the caliper to fit over the vented rotors. He also had the rotors and other parts.

This has nothing to do with aluminum S calipers though.

That's the thread. So as mention, it is not aluminum calipers. Would this be considered a good set up tho as an improvement for a 68 912? I was going to send off my calipers for rebuild to PMB Performance, but this is comparably priced I think.

For a 1968 you need a combination of parts to go to vented brakes. I was working up the parts required for a 1966 which should be pretty much the same:
PMB's Brembo aluminum front caliper kit, front hub for the vented rotor plus new bearings and seals, front vented rotors. Not certain, but a different spacer may be required to install the front hub. Can someone please confirm one way or the other.
Alan.uk's rear calipers and modified vented rear rotors to suit.
Porterfield AP174 R4-S pad set front & rear.
Not an inexpensive solution, but one that matches the 911S brake system, and perhaps one-ups it. Also it does not require changes to the front or rear suspension so that a return to stock is quick and easy.
Link to the brembo front caliper's. I have a set, and they are very nice.
