Thread: Was the original 1966 case-to-tank oil line steel braid?

Was the original 1966 case-to-tank oil line steel braid?

Trying to figure this one out. I know that the CAM oil lines were steel braided.

My question is, were the BIG oil lines from the case scavenge fitting to the tank, and the "s" hose from the tank to the oil cooler, STEEL braided, or the rubber textured type? We know they are not the modern "smooth" type.

Thanks! A photo would be really great if anyone has one of an original 1966.

The lines are the German braded lines with the blue line running through them. The lines I have I took off my car in 1970, a 1967 S, so I know they are origional. I can send you a picture but it would be a few days, I would need to clean them so you could see the blue line. I never looked real close but I guess one of the group of wires making up the brade is colored blue, so the finished product has a blue line running through it,
