The Metralla rocks. It's a favorite bike I've never owned.

You can do a "Giro" event and their is one coming up soon in the NE. A buddy of mine is doing it on a Ducati 250. He's sorted the bike and is now doing the "cosmetics".

    Fun!

    Sold indeed.

I grew up 7 miles from Hughs place.
The collection of Bikes he has is beyond the wildest Bultaco fantasy.

He had some good ones last year. One really cherry Metralla that called to me but alas, I looked the other way. Too bad.

    Yup. That's exactly it.
For those short pleasure runs that are not long enough to warm the oil in the 911.

1979 370 pursang the last great bike of an era!

The 1979 370 Pursang was the last great bike imported from Spain and the end of a GREAT era in Motocross.

This is the last Bultaco I raced in the desert and it still is all original including the tires (Pirelli Fabrico in Espana)!

The late 1970s was when Bultaco was trying to compete with the Jap bikes and began to copy their tricks. Like lay down shocks, reed valves, Up Pipe, remote resivors etc. This bike even has a Plastic Tank (Metal flake Blue) and sidecovers as opposed to the fiberglass tanks that Bultaco was always known for.

I had all of the open class bikes (360cc-500cc)Husky, Maico, Greeves, Penton, CZ... But I was always fastest and most comfortable on the 360-370cc Bultacos.

Unfortunately as we all know none of the European bikes had even a slight a chance against the Honda Elsinor or the Yamahas. Who had already moved into the Mono shock technology years before the end of Bultaco.

This vintage TT600 Yamaha is what I ride now several times a week on the trails behind my house... The 600 is plush (for and old-timer) and will climb a telephone pole in third gear!
