    Horn Ring Restoration?

Hello, the picture should help. Basically, my steering hub is this "butterfly" style, but the chrome ring around the center of it is all peely. Is this available? If not, are there any creative fixes? And what the heck should be under the pad- stuffing, or will the center just naturally puff up like that when installed? Thanks very much in advance. I have an alternate steering wheel with a plain "hockey puck" that looks very nice, but I really like this one better. (The photo is one I just cribbed from eBay. Thanks!)

The leather center on my '68 is "flat" without, it would seem, any padding. Can't put my finger on it, but I thought I read somewhere that they (the 68s, that is) came that way.
